Interesting Pattern Standing Out In A Minimalist Photograph

This is another Minimalist Photograph of mine captured while wandering through the cobble stone streets of historic Bo-Kaap.

Minimalist Photograph - Bowling pin shaped house columns, Bo Kaap, South Africa

Funny enough, Bo-Kaap is such a vibrant and colourful place and that is what initially captured me in general, but for this particular image I prefer the black & white edit.

When I looked through my photos of the day, there where quite a lot of minimalist images, and in most cases the bold colours made them work, but for this particular one, with its bright pink house wall only showing in the corner and slightly coming through around the front columns (the grey areas you see in the picture), it distracted too much from the interesting pattern the white balcony decor forms. The main focus of this photograph.

By the way, is it just me or do you also feel like these balcony columns look like neatly lined up bowling pins, ready to be knocked down?
